High school students across Saskatchewan are invited to step into leadership roles and help shape the future of community safety through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency’s Youth Preparedness Council (YPC).
The YPC brings together students in Grades 9 to 12 who are passionate about making a difference. Members work collaboratively on real world projects focused on disaster preparedness, climate resilience and public safety while gaining hands-on experience and building leadership skills.
Applications are open to students in Grades 9 to 12 with strong leadership and time management skills. The deadline to apply is August 5, 2026.
Visit the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency website for more information. Application forms can be submitted by email to youthpreparednesscouncil@gov.sk.ca.
The 2026–27 term runs from September to May and includes virtual meetings, mentorship and project collaboration. Members commit a minimum of four hours per month to the council, with additional opportunities to shadow professionals and expand their experience.
Saskatchewan Distance Learning Centre provides Kindergarten to Grade 12 courses to Saskatchewan students who choose to study online. We empower students and families to choose the learning environment that works best for them, while supporting their graduation plan.
